Departure from the Bormio sports center at an altitude of 1225 meters. Once you leave the sports center, take the SP 29 towards S. Caterina Valfurva, the 12 km that separate Bormio from S. Caterina bring us to an altitude of 1,734 meters. Here begins the climb to P.sso Gavia . P.sso Gavia's first time at the Giro d'Italia dates back to 1960. Legendary stories have been told on this climb with epic feats on the part of the runners.
The climb from S.Caterina to the top of the pass has a difference in altitude of 900 meters with an average slope of 6.5% for 13 km. The passage to the Gavia pass at 2,621 meters. Descent to Ponte di Legno with great CARE, a narrow and unprotected road.
From Ponte di Legno road you go up to Passo Tonale 1884 meters, then a long descent to Val di Non a Cles then take the last climb to Spormaggiore.
Bormio is a tourist town located in Valtellina in the Stelvio National Park. Known city for its ancient thermal baths with three thermal establishments. From Bormio through Valfurva you arrive at S.Caterina Valfurva, a renowned ski resort. The climb up the Gavia pass and descend to Ponte di Legno in Val Camonica, a tourist center, from here the Oglio river originates. The gentle descent to Monno and then climbing the mythical climb of Mortirolo
