Passo Bernina




Descent from Passo Bernina along the state road 29, for 17 km, a wide and flowing road, passing through Pontresina then turning towards St. Moritz. You cross the city and cross the Engadine Valley on a slight slope to the Maloja Pass. 32 km descent. Halfway down, turn off the state road to avoid the tunnel in the direction of Promotogno. Returning to Italy, you arrive in Chiavenna. From Chiavenna to Lake Mezzola all by bike. It runs along the shore of Lake Como until Bellano, where the climb that leads to the control of Vendogno begins.
Passo Bernina divides the Poschiavo Valley from the Val Engadina, in addition to admiring the majestic Bernina group with its glaciers, there is an artificial reservoir Lago Bianco. On the way down Val Bernina you can admire the passage of the BERNINA EXPRESS, the red train, a UNESCO heritage site, which connects St. Moritz (Switzerland) to Tirano (Italy). The first town in the Upper Engadine is Pontresina, a ski destination. Passage to ST. Moritz, a renowned tourist town in the Alps, home of two Winter Olympics and rich in thermal springs. Continuing on to enter the Engadine Valley, we encounter four large lakes in a context of a wonderful landscape. From the Maloja pass you start to descend, you enter Val Chiavenna and after returning to Italian territory you can admire the Acqua Fraggia waterfalls until you reach Chiavenna.
